VELASCO & HU IS A CREATIVE DUO BASED IN MADRID, FORMED BY CARLOS VELASCO (MADRID, 1981) AND KATE HU (TAIPEI, 1982). 

Coming from two worlds and different backgrounds, we love to live and work across cultures and disciplines. 
We are advertising photographers by day and fine art photographers by night. We shoot still life and portrait during the week, lifestyle and travel during the weekend.
We tirelessly fuse inspirations and play visual games to create eye-catching images across genres, meanwhile taking care of every detail in the creation process, from ideas, composition, color palette, lighting, to art direction.
No matter what type of photography we work on, our aim is always to build connections with the subjects we shoot, tell stories by powerful visuals, and immerse our audience in the mood that we set up.
We also make films, tv spots, documentary, short films and fashion films. When it comes to filmmaking, we love to tell stories between reality and fiction to explore both internal and external human conditions.
Our short films have been officially selected and screened at several international short film festivals: Aesthetica Short Film Festival in York, Barcelona Fashion Film Festival, Dansmuseet in Stockholm, Lisbon InShadow ScreenDance, Berlin Commercial Film Festival, and Matadero Centre for Contemporary Creation in Madrid.
